Alessia started swimming when she was 3 years old. From 6 to 13 years she was trained by very good and devoted Riccardo Pontani. With him she won in all the youthful categories. In the year 2000 she entered in the first team of Aurelia Nuoto with Cesare Butini. With her team and in the youthful National Team, her successes became more and more important and for this reason she was summoned in the absolute, Professional National Team her style of swimming and her talent led Alessia to took part at olimpyc games of Athene in 2004. She arrived 16th in 400meters medley and she did a good experience in other competitions. She imposed herself at International level at Mediterranean games in 2005 with gold medal in 400meters medley with new Italian record and in 200meters backstroke. After two months she arrived 5th in the final of 200meters backstroke at word championship in Montreal. In December 2005 Alessia changed team. She moved to the sport centre of customs officer and she still trains with great athletes but, principally has found Andrea Palloni, trainer of the Alessia’s team “Fiamme Gialle”, with whom has established a technical feeling that in Italian swimming trials in Riccione Alessia was disruptive with her performances, the press defined her “The financier in Assault”. A few days later she won the silver medal in 400meters medley at world championship in Shanghai (25meters) with new Italian record. Four months later in European championship in Budapest she exploded at International level. She won the gold medal in 400meters medley with the first world performance in 2006 and the fourth world performance “All time”. She is the first Italian woman in the swimming to win the gold medal in an European championship. Three days later she won the bronze medal in 200meters medley with new Italian record.
